Read Blakk Rasta's interview on BBC Focus on Africa plus his views on Barack Obama and Donald Trump

Blakk Rasta interwied on BBC Focus on Africa, talks about Obama and Trump

Check out the full unedited text of Ghanaian reggae musician, Blakk Rasta's interview on BBC Focus on Africa a moment ago with Audrey Brown(interviewer) as he talked about Barack Obama as the first black man president in America, why he likes him, and Donald J. Trump plus why he doesn't like him and more.

Source: sasughana

These were the raggae artiste's first words on Barack Obama (outgoing American president) for the start.

"Well, I am so proud of him for the fact that a black man has bee been able to go in there and he got a second nod for a second term...for me I think that it is great achievement...I mean he has been able to show everybody---every tom dick and harry that yes I mean a black man is able to do what people thought originally that he couldn't do. So for me has done well..."

These were the reggae musician's views on Barack Obama, his government and his foreign policy achievements with regards to Africa.

"Yes! There was a lot of hype because that was the first time a black man was coming in there. Some people thought  that God was coming to take over. Some peoole had a lot of expectations---beyond human expectations. No, not at all. I have never rated any human being beyond his human capabilities. So for me, he has done very well. I mean there was a lot of mess when he came...terrorism all over the place, bombs were flying, people were being cut into pieces.

"Well, yes. I mean bombs flew. I am talking in terms of comparing him to some other people. He was a more peaceful president.

"We had dinner together in 2009. It was a wonderful meeting. For me I couldn't just believe it that he decided to come to Ghana as his first stop on his African tour. And he gave us some very inspiring speeches here and there. It was marvellous, it was wonderful."

And these were Blakk Rasta's views on and reasons why he doesn't like the American president-elect, Donald Trump.

"For real. No, I don't, I don't, at all. Well I mean Donald Trump before he became president, I neher thought for once that he would ever we be president. Donald Trump has said a lot of terrible things against Muslims, He said a lot of things against black people and he has also said a lot of things against General immigration. They did! and a few days after he won the elections those things vanished from his website. He started going back on some of the things that he said I mean during the campaign period. For me, he is not a courageous leader. For me, he is not a leader at all."

Lastly, according to Blakk Rasta, he thinks Donald Trump is dumb.

"I think he is. I think he is. I mean I will always change my mind when people decide to turn a better leaf. I don't think that he stands for anything. Not at all. He is changing almost everything. Certainly, I am looking forward to that. And I will be the first person to sing a song for him."

Did Pres Mahama and Nana Addo promise Shatta Wale Land Cruiser and Envelope? Check this out!

Shatta Wale reminds Mahama and Nana Addo of his Land Cruiser and Money

Tomorrow happens to be the birthday of Ghanaian dancehall musician and entertainer, Shatta Wale and without wasting much time, he has taken to Twitter to call on President John Mahama; flag bearer of the NDC and Nana Akuffo Addo; flag bearer of the opposition NPP in this year's December 7 election to remind them of a promise they might have made to the 'Mahama Paper' and 'Kakai' hitmaker behind closed doors.

Shatta Wale is one musician in Ghana who was/is fortunate to have his Mahama Paper and Kakai songs used and being used respectively by both parties; NDC and NPP for their manifestos launch and in their campaigns.

So one would assume that, it is on this background that the artiste might have struck a deal with both parties flag bearers and leaders before using his songs and he is reminding them to fulfil the supposed promise on his birthday.

He first tweeted, "Nana akuffo addo and president Mahama please tomorrow is my birthday so am waiting for my land cruiser and Envelope..pleasseee."

He then followed up with another tweet since he didn't get a response from them for the first tweet, but this time he tagged them both, that is, "@NAkufoAddo and @JDMahama did u please get my message ..Thank you"

6 Things Tanzanian President, Magufuli has done to save money for Tanzania

6 Things John Pombe Magufuli has done to save money for Tanzania

Love him or hate him, the east African country, Tanzania John Pombe Magufuli would not back down on his words and everything he says needs to get done, although he is not a dictator. John Magufuli loves to make changes, changes that will make Tanzania a country good to write home about and that is worth of emulation.

Since he assumed office as Tanzanian president on November 5, 2015, Magufuli has made some great changes in the country's government way of doing things and also in the lifestyle of its citizens.

These are some of the changes he has made so far:

1. He cancelled the country's Independence Day celebrations to save money because he realized that during those celebrations the country waste a lot of money.

2. He has banned government officials(himself, his deputy and prime minister exempted) from flying on first-class air tickets to save money. They can go for business and economy tickets.

3. He cut the state dinner for parliament opening budget by more than 90 percent to save money.

4. He has only 19 ministries under his cabinet to save money.

5. He cut a bloated delegation of 50 people set to tour Commonwealth countries to just four to save money.

6. He has ensured that all government meetings are held in government buildings to save money. No more hotels and expensive buildings.

Should all other African countries leaders do same, they would go far?

In the month of June this year, Ghana's Power Minister, Dr. Kwabena Donkor promised to resign if load shedding also know as 'Dumsor' goes beyond December 31, 2015 unresolved.

He said, "By the end of December load shedding will have ended. I am crazy enough to have said I will resign from my position if load shedding goes beyond 31 December, 2015. I have put my head on the block."

Accra Floods Disaster Not Natural But Leadership Failure Over Decades - Samia Nkrumah

Samia Nkrumah
The Chairwoman of the Convention People's Party(CPP), Samia Nkrumah; in her post on social media today has blamed the Accra floods induced Goil filling station fire disaster which occurred on this week's Wednesday evening at Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra that claimed over 190 lives on leadership failure over decades.

This disaster could have been avoided with proper planning that takes into account the growing urban population of Accra, she added.

And she did not end her message without extending condolences the bereaved families, and thoughts and prayers to those who survived the disaster but suffered sever burns and are in the hospitals.

She wrote, "Incessant rains, rising water levels in our homes and roads, and the heart-breaking deaths of many due to the fire at the Circle Filling Stations are hard to bear. We offer our deepest condolences to the families of all who have died. Our thoughts and prayers also go out to those at the Burns Units in hospitals in Accra as a result of this terrible accident.

This is a disaster that affects all of us. But it is not a natural disaster. It is a failure of leadership over decades. This is a man-made disaster, which could have been avoided with proper planning that takes into account the growing urban population of Accra.

It is another wake up call to address the long-standing infrastructural problems that lead to what is becoming a seasonal occurrence.

This is the time to be our brothers' and sisters' keepers. Individuals and families caught out in the rain, need immediate assistance. You can help by donating clothes and shoes of all sizes and for all ages, tarpaulins and other plastic sheeting, long-handled brooms, food, water, hot drinks and any money you can spare.

Give Mahama time to solve the problems - John Dumelo, Ghana Internet Warriors React

Ghana Internet Warriors unhappy with John Dumelo Mahama time to solve Ghana problems

Ghanaian movie star, John Dumelo, the ladies’ man, was heard speaking to an Accra based radio station, Starr FM; yesterday, and he urged critics of President John Dramani Mahama to get off his back and give him time to solve the challenges facing the country.

He said “We should just give him [Mahama] time to solve the problems, the problems are there but it's four years, Rome wasn’t built in a day… and if after 2016 the problems are not solved then we know what to do.”

He stressed that the President needs help and not criticism to solve the challenges in the country.

He did also say that, the pressure on the President is too much; so Ghanaians should give him time.

And as we already know, Dumelo did campaign for President Mahama ahead of the 2012 elections as an official ambassador.

And due to his open support for the NDC at the time, he lost several endorsements deals.

“I actually lost some endorsements deals because I did something for the NDC. I don’t regret it at all,” he said.

But as you and I know very well, in Ghana, you can’t just speak your mind and go scot-free, you will be attacked verbally from all angles especially by the Ghana Internet Warriors (GIWa). Some Ghanaians; GIWa found John Dumelo's statement inappropriate and they have indeed reacted to it in a series of Facebook posts.

Below are the ‘missiles’ they shot at the actor and they were hostile, hilarious, tribalistic and perhaps politically motivated at the same time.
