"Pls read and be warned against these smart guys..

2guys chartered my taxi from Adum and ordered me to take them to Santase still in Kumasi.. I was the one driving but they were trying to control my movements ,eg,pass here,dodge this road,use this side and be smart.. I became soon suspicious and quickly started to see them as criminals...

"I told them I was a town boy and knows the corners corners ɛnti they should patiently watch me as I drive them to the exact place they wanted to be and maybe few minutes after their scheduled time sake of traffic.
Boys calmed down and were now looking like prisoners already. I thought within myself and said these guys must be searched. We continued the rounds and I came out with a suggestion to pass through the Kath emergency route so they agreed but the security man at the gate refused that we went to use the soldier's gate. Guys looked confused so I charged them up and said we should use the other gate as suggested by the Gateman.

"Now we got to the soldiers gate and I saw a soldier that I know very well so I shouted his name and pretended as if it's been long that I saw him so lemme go shake his hand but with a different intention.
Here, I smartly reported to him that those 2guys behaved as if they were "armedless robbers" . Verily verily, when he, together with another soldier interrogated them, these were the kind of papers found in their bag..(fake papers) not money mpo, just that they had the Ghc50 inscriptions on them

"When the heat got hotter, they confessed of haven duped a woman at Adum of her CFA. which when converted into Ghana Cedis, will amount to "Ghc4000" 40million...the soldier was off duty so we moved to where they claim the woman was met and behold, she was still narrating her story to a grown up man there, see them in the picture with the smile signs..

"Everything was done silently that much people didn't here of it until the woman started saying the guys must be put in cells and given years to serve according to the number of fake papers "currencies" they gave her in exchange for her CFA.she came from Tajik roots a suburb of Cote D'voire to buy some items from the Central Market oooo(she is a trader)

"In fact, the situation was handled calmly that they ended up being reported to one of the toughest custody's here in kumasi, not even near Adum... The most painful part of it was that, these guys gave their ages as (21 & 19years).... Meanwhile, I have closed for the day

"The woman is now behaving as if they stole her (fish head) inside her soup.. Don't know if she will sleep at the police station too. Me deɛ, I'm going home, will call to find out what's next later..........

227 Ugandans contract HIV daily, 83,000 annually - Amakobe Sande

The UNAIDS Country Director for Uganda, Ms Amakobe Sande made this revealation at the Uganda's Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday as she presented her credentials.

According to her, “We need to pay attention to young people, especially girls and women. Uganda still produces 83,000 new HIV/Aids infections annually, meaning 227 new infections daily and I consider this a crisis."

She added, “I am coming in to take over from Mr Musa Bungundu. I intend to build on that positive legacy and I will be working on elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV/Aids in Uganda and I am calling upon all stakeholders not to relax."

“Treatment is also prevention and the first line of response is putting patients on treatment," she said.

EC bore, issues a Warning Notice to Ghana Internet Warriors

"...and you will be banned...without notice." 

Since Madam Charlotte Osei assumed the office of the Chairperson of the independent Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC), a day never passes by without herself and the EC receiving deliveries of insults from the very people they are working for, Ghanaians. Insults from the radio, TV and social media are what they always wake up to everyday. And this is bacause of the persona of Madam Charlotte Osei and the activities of the EC, the logo re-branding, the ongoing voters' registration exercise and other operations that don't seem to meet the expectations of many Ghanaians. 

Ghanaians are not happy with the EC and the Ghana Internet Warriors(GIWa) are too, and it seems the only way for the internet warriors to register their displeasure with the EC is to go on social media platforms especially Facebook to verbally abuse them and their chairperson. 

The EC have always remain passive to their insults but today has brought some change as they have taken to their Facebook page to issue an important warning notice to all the Ghana Internet Warriors who keep insulting them and anyone who fail to abide by their notice will face something drastic, a ban.

Kumasi Police Retrieve AK47s and Machine Guns from Alabar

The police on Saturday retrieved a large quantity of guns from a house at alabar, a suburb of Kumasi.

The guns included AK47 and machine guns with ammunition.

The operation which was spearheaded by the Manhyia Divisional Command according to Graphic Online sources was upon a tip off.

Some arrests were also made. The Regional Police Command has scheduled a press briefing on Monday, to give more details on what could be the biggest arms haul in the history of the police in Kumasi.

How two Ghanaian girls Fighting Over one cheating boyfriend died

Sources confirmed that Elizabeth was staying with the man believed to be a galamsey operator and left to visit her mother. Upon her return home, Elizabeth purportedly spotted Monica lying on her lover’s bed, while he had gone to do the galamsey (illegal mining) business.

According to the sources, Elizabeth went and took a container said to contain fuel and poured the content on Monica and set her ablaze together with the mattress.

Daily Guide gathered that Monica shouted and attracted residents to the scene. The people reportedly got infuriated about the action of Elizabeth and allegedly assaulted her to the point of unconsciousness before some police officers from Akwatia surfaced on the scene. She later died at the hospital.

An eyewitness, who confirmed the incident, said that “The guy and his girlfriend have settled here (Kusi) and they are into galamsey. But the guy had gone in for another girl behind his woman. When the woman saw her rival in bed she immediately struck her and set her on fire while she was still bleeding.”

He added, “But the residents heard of what she had done, pounced on her and beat her up until she became helpless.”

It was also learnt that two police officers who got to the scene to arrest those attacking Elizabeth sustained some injuries.

When contacted, the Akwatia police said their outfit had commenced investigations into the matter.

Urgent! Ghanaian Engineer With Baker Hughes Perishing In S/A

A young Ghanaian Engineer has been left to his fate by Baker Hughes, an American oil and gas services company operating in many African countries including Ghana.

The helpless Andrew Boateng is an engineer with Baker Hughes Ghana but was doing rotational work in Congo and Gabon.

He was said to have been involved in a terrible accident in Gabon in the company’s vehicle on official duty on April 2014 and was subsequently airlifted to Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa, whilst in coma.

Later, when he regained consciousness he reportedly spent a couple of weeks at the hospital and was first moved to a nursing home and finally to another home for the aged called Serenity Home, also in Johannesburg, when the company stopped catering for his needs.

Human rights activists in South Africa drew the attention of DAILY GUIDE to the plight of the Ghanaian engineer.

An activist who did not want to be named said “Andy has been lying in poor hospital facilities in South Africa and no family [member has visited him] for over a year. He cannot eat, walk and talk. Right now he is in old people’s nursing home and there is no physiotherapy or good nutrition.”

The activist said “a friend of mine who is a former employee of Baker Hughes asked for my assistance to be visiting Andy since I am based in South Africa; but after seeing him, I was moved by how such big corporations making millions of dollars in Ghana could have abandoned a Ghanaian citizen in a foreign country and be playing hide and seek games.”

“We need to put public pressure on Baker Hughes and other companies operating in Africa. There is a huge neglect of the African physical and human resources by these companies,” the activist added.

Baker Hughes is said to have been in Ghana since 2009 and has been providing drilling and evaluation, completions and production, pressure pumping, downstream service, fluids and chemicals as well as reservoir development services in the booming oil and gas sector.

VIDEO: Woman caught at Nimo Pharmacy for stealing from a Security Officer

The two mothers were at the lounge of the Nimo Pharmacy with each mother waiting for her turn to be called by the pharmacist for prescription.

The security woman who is also a mother was the first to be called by the pharmacist for her drugs. So as she was away, in the pharmacy premises, the second mother(left) who was still waiting for her turn to be called by the pharmacist realized that a whole security officer had played careless by leaving her hand bag that has her phone, money and other items behind on the bench.

The second mother(left) looked around for seconds and when she realized nobody was watching, she quickly went into the security woman's hand bag, took her phone and money and later vanished from the scene.

The security woman returned after being attended to by the pharmacist. She moved straight to her hand bag, took it up, open the zip and immediately after opening the bag her heart dropped down into her stomach because she was then aware that the new owner of her phone and money has come for it.

It then occurred to her that the second mother who was waiting behind  was nowhere to be found. She went back into the pharmacy premises hoping to see her but to no avail. She then came outside and started running around - anywhere, everywhere. She ran around and around and around until she finally got hold of the mother thief. She frisked her and lo and behold she found her phone on her but the mother thief had already switched off the the phone.

She then single-handedly dragged her back to the forecourt of the pharmacy. And everything that happened after is in the video. It is sad though. The hardship is real.

PHOTOS: SHS student commits suicide, Her reason for doing so will shock you

The entire Somanya township is currently in a state of shock as a final year female student of the Yilo-Krobo Senior High School has committed suicide on Thursday afternoon.

The student, identified only as Eunice, was found hanging from a rope tied to the branches of a Mango tree near a popular road known as the "DC Road" in Somanya.

It is not immediately known what might have triggered her decision to commit the suicide.
As we speak the police have just arrived on the scene.

This is the third time (publicly known) this year that Somanya alone has recorded suicide cases. The first was the Suhum NSS boss in early January, and the second was the Bethel JHS student in the middle of the year.

A source very close to Eunice Lartey told Kloma Hengme that, the deceased who was promoted to form three this year at the Yilo-Krobo SHS sought for a transfer to Akro Senior High School in the Lower Manya-Krobo Municipality but was asked to start all over again at Year One at Akro SHS.

The issue is said to have caused her sleepless nights. Often, she complained to her aunt how retrogressive it was for her to start at Year 1 at her new school hence Thursday’s decision to hang herself.

Photo: Ecobank Manager, Seth Akyea, Shot Dead

A 40- year-old manager of Ecobank, Seth Akyea, has been shot dead by three unidentified persons at his residence at Kasoa.

Seth Akyea until his death was the Operations Manager at the Cantoments Branch of the bank.

The incident occurred around 9.30 pm last Friday.

Seth Akyea was killed when he arrived home from work at Kasoa New Market in the Central Region.

The Kasoa Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Samuel Winful said the deceased’s vehicle was taken by the suspects and later abandoned.

“When he got home, he got down from the car and the suspects attacked him. They requested for his car keys. There was a lady in the car and the suspects asked her to go into the house. They marched the deceased to the passenger side and had a conversation with him where they shot him. And they took the car with them but the car has currently been retrieved. The murderers are three in all,” he said.

He added that it was too early to describe the incident as a contract killing and stated that investigations were ongoing.

“Now we cannot say it is contract killing and we are doing our investigations to unravel everything connected to the incident”, he added.

ICGC Pastor Kills Wife

A 41-year-old pastor of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) - Old Timers Assembly - has been arrested by the Kasoa District Police for killing his wife.
 
Pastor Houkpe Archill Yao purportedly committed the act at their Rock City residence on Saturday July 25. 

Yao, a Togolese is reported to have committed the heinous crime after a misunderstanding between him and his wife.

Yao took their two children to their hometown in Togo before reporting himself to the Amasaman Police Tuesday.

The body of the deceased, identified as Rita Kweve, 37 - a Sunday school teacher of the Church was discovered by a neighbor in their rented Single room apartment around 7am the following day.

The Kasoa District Crime Officer, DSP Samuel Naa Musah told the Daily Graphic that they found the deceased lying on the bed with blood oozing out of her mouth and nose.
 
The body was picked and sent to the Police Hospital for preservation and autopsy.

Luchiez Nana Yaw Curtis Kills 2 people in Kumasi

The son of a top National Democratic Congress (NDC) woman in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital, who was reportedly in a pornographic video that went viral on the social media some months ago, has allegedly killed two people.

Bright Antwi Julius alias Luchiez Nana Yaw Curtis was said to have knocked down the two people with a speeding Toyota vehicle, which killed them instantly near the Ahodwo Roundabout on Friday evening.

The deceased persons were identified as Bless Saahene, believed to be in her mid 20s and George Osei Yaw, popularly called Wofa – both workers of Golden Bean Hotel in Kumasi.

They were said to have closed from work and were walking home when from nowhere Bright Antwi, who was said to be intoxicated, knocked them down with the speeding car from behind.

The suspect, whose mother, Ophelia Antwi Boasiako, is a top NDC member in-charge of the Ashanti Regional School Feeding Programme, was said to be driving without a licence, sources alleged.

In a typical hit-and-run fashion, the suspect purportedly fled into thin air after killing the two persons, but he was eventually apprehended by the police when he visited a hospital to seek medical treatment for some slight injuries that he sustained.

The suspect, who is currently in police grips, was said to be driving at top speed and in a dangerous fashion from the Adum direction and heading towards the Ahodwo Roundabout area around 10:30 pm.

He reportedly overtook a vehicle in front of him, thereby moving to the opposite lane and in an attempt to avert a possible head-on-collision with an oncoming vehicle, he veered his car to the shoulder of the road and killed the two in the process.
