Dumsor and Power Bank Kill another beautiful life in Ghana

Ghanaian girl killed by power bank and dumsor

ATTENTION! Sorry the initial post has been taken down by the source and not sasugh.blogspot.com. For any inconvenience caused I sincerely apologize.

But the photo above is the alleged girl who fell asleep while chatting with her friends on the phone in the period of lights out and got electrocuted to death by her already-charging-and-overly-heated power bank when the lights came back on.

According to sources, it is believed the lights were on before she started chatting with her friends and in the process the lights went out. Besides, she already had the phone connected to the power bank via cable and the power bank to the electricity power outlet.

She was downloading power into the power bank, charging and using the phone at the same time. So when the lights went out and she finished chatting, she forgot to disconnect the power bank; and fell asleep on it in the process. The lights were later put on when she was fast asleep and her chest resting on the power bank. The power bank got heated, burnt and shocked her to death.

She was a resident of Accra, according to reports.

The family, friends and loved ones did not hear a good news on Tuesday evening when they found out that their beloved, Blandine has lost her life to 'Dumsor' and power bank. So sad.

Our sincere condolences to the bereaved family. Take heart.

Patrick Ayumu's Resignation Letter to Starr FM 'Exposes' Mary-Ann Acolatse

Patrick Ayumu resignation letter Starr FM Mary-Ann Acolatse
Patrick Ayumu and Mary-Ann Acolatse
Mary-Ann Acolatse, Former TV3 Director of News and Current Affairs, now the Managing News Editor of Starr FM, according to sources, has from sometime back; whether or not knowingly, been entering Patrick Ayumu's bad books and for today, she has entered fully and for life---sealed.

Check Ayumu's resignation letter below:

Dear Mary-Anne,

I pray this letter finds you well. Just a few things I need to get off my chest.

I used to wake up in the morning with joy to come to work at Starr FM. It was not the money, nor the car. God knows I am too simple at heart to get driven by those things. It was the drive to start something new and win with it; it was the joy I got from working with positive-spirited and like- minded people to nudge off competition; it was the smiles I met at work from fellow colleagues in the newsroom, who did not look at me with suspicious eyes; it was the togetherness that bound the newsroom as a unit; it was the clean-hearted smile the CEO shares with even the lowest of the lowly at Starr, and the respect he accords everyone, irrespective of who they are. Those were my motivators. Sadly, all the joy has frittered with your coming.

Now I virtually trudge out of bed every morning to come to work – more of hell now – and I’m not willing to bake in that furnace any longer. I work without happiness because of your constant suspicions of me and my department. You have managed to sow seeds of suspicion among a unit whose togetherness was the envy of everyone. But I think you went a little too far with your attempt to set me up against Kent yesterday. It was a bad thing to do.

Unlike your weak- minded lickspittles in the newsrooms, I’m too loyal to my conscience for you, or anyone to blunt my senses to my own humanness. Now I have lost all respect I had for you as a Boss, and I’m afraid I cannot work with you any longer. I’m better off jobless than caged up in that HELL of a newsroom. You have turned the entire newsroom into a den of suspicion. It is now a soup of poisonous emotions. We cannot even have normal conversations among ourselves anymore because you’ve sown seeds of distrust among us through your lackeys who are always within an earshot. Your dictatorial style of leadership has not helped matters too. You like listening to yourself talk. No one else’s view matter. It’s always your way, or no way. If that was for the good of the work, I may overlook it: after all, Lee Kwan Yew did something great for Singapore with such dictatorial leadership. But no. Yours is for self-preservation. And it’s mostly spurred by ignorance. That is not healthy. You shut people up as though we were kids in a Kindergarten.

And though you may think you know so much and so needn’t listen to anybody’s suggestions or explanations, I just like to advise you that newsroom work is not done on Google.

Practical newsroom work is totally different from anything Google might tell you it is. You can’t run a newsroom with lofty ideas from Google. Newsroom work is not academic work. Experiential newsroom knowledge could cure your stark practical ignorance. And I say this with a clean heart and in good faith.

I know there are so many people in the newsroom, who hate your leadership style and are so fouled by it. I speak for all of them and I’m sacrificing my job for them, in order to save Starr and the entire EIB Group.

I see you as a big sister, and would advise you to court a teachable spirit, so that you can learn from even your subordinates, who by no means are greenhorns. That is the sign of good leadership. Getting stuck in ignorance and operating by it, is a curse for any business. Spare Starr FM that curse.

I have sunk my health into Starr FM over the past few months. My reward was a near-fatal high blood pressure. My Doctor says I could have been struck down by either stroke, or cardiac arrest. But God saved me. And I’m eternally grateful to Him for using my colleagues and me to make StarrFMonline.com what it is today. Of course there is always room for improvement in every endeavour and we’ve been open to new things every day, but not things borne out of ignorance.

I hope and pray that you don’t destroy StarrFMonline.com and the entire newsroom. And kindly grant me one more request. Please tell the CEO that I’m very sorry for disappointing him, but I can’t stay in that hellhole anymore. Just yesterday he asked me if everything was alright at work. I smiled and said: ‘Yes’. So I know he will be very disappointed with me for fleeing Starr. But tell him I said your mere presence in the newsroom and your divisive tactics make my blood pressure go high at work every time, and I need to stay alive, thus my action. My Doctor has advised me to stay off negative energy. And that I’m willing to do. There is too much poison in the Starr newsroom now, thanks to you, and I will give up all the money in the world to save my health.

Kent and the rest of the team can easily handle the website. Kent is a good guy. Please allow him to work. He knows more about online work than you can learn your entire life. And kindly treat the Editors you work with in the newsroom as allies rather than enemies. You may have your own funny ideas about them, but trust me, they know their stuff. Instead of fighting them all the time, you should be grateful for having editors who know what they are about.

I wish you well. I wish Starr FM and the EIB Group well. I’ll have the car, the laptop, the modem, my insurance card and the ID card delivered. They are the only company items in my possession.

Good Bye
Ayumu

Violence + Poverty = Recipe For Chaos: KSM

KSM
The founder and CEO of Sapphire Ghana Limited who is also the host of 'THE KSM SHOW' on Metro TV, Kwaku Sintim-Misa, known popularly as KSM has taken to his official facebook fan page to state that it is violence and poverty that cause chaos. His statement was driven by the recent tragic acid attack on the Upper East Regional Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party, Adams Mahama.

Adams Mahama was thoroughly bathed with acid by two assailants who stopped his car when he was just about entering his house at midnight on May 20th; this month. He was later confirmed dead in the hospital.

This is what KSM has to say,

VIOLENCE +POVERTY = RECIPE FOR CHAOS

The recent event in the Upper East is frightening. Violence in the midst of Poverty is the breeding ground for opportunists who are looking to exploit chaos. In that chaos, no one is safe. it has been said that the is nothing more dangerous to society than a person with nothing to loose. Such acts provide a timely avenue for those with nothing to loose to take out their frustrations and wreck havoc. In their minds, they are convinced that those caught in the wrath are the ones responsible for their poverty.

Their anger knows no party colors, no class distinction, no religion and no neighbor. It is anger that is appeased by one thing; HAVOC. My plea to all of us is to treat this as a time-bomb waiting to explode. We should keep in mind that when it does, it will not explode within a party. The explosion will not discriminate. NO ONE IS SPARED. It may have started as a party crisis but it is now a NATIONAL CRISIS. Lets join hands as a Nation to nip this in the bud.

It Is Wise And Strategic Investment If Sarkodie Paid $25,000 - KSM

KSM, Ace Hood and Sarkodie
The founder and CEO of Sapphire Ghana Limited who is also the host of 'THE KSM SHOW' on Metro TV, Kwaku Sintim-Misa, known popularly as KSM has come out on social media to give his candid two cents about the issue surrounding the American rapper, Ace Hood and our own brother and country boss, Sarkodie.

According to him, the entertainment industry has now become global and a fierce numbers game. So for a musician to expand their sphere of influence in different territories and remain relevant he will pay. It is wise if Sarkodie paid Ace Hood $25K for the #NewGuy collaboration song.

KSM wrote,

IN THE MATTER OF SARKODIE AND THE $25,000

The entertainment landscape is dynamic. The platform has become global and it is now a fierce NUMBERS GAME. Those who have the strategy to EXPAND their sphere of INFLUENCE are the ones who rule. Pure and simple.

I don't know whether he did or didn't. But if Sarkodie paid $25,000 to expand his sphere in the global market then he made a wise and strategic investment.

Nothing comes easy in this world. You have to identify the one thing that is important to you and which is relevant to your career growth, then decide what price you are willing to pay for it. NOTHING COMES EASY.

Its a NUMBERS game folks. The strategy is all about EXPANDING YOUR SPHERE OF INFLUENCE in different territories especially in music. That is key to staying RELEVANT and more important, staying relevant GLOBALLY..

As I keep saying I don't know if Sarks paid or not, but if he did, it was a wise move SO PLEASE GIVE HIM A BREAK AND STOP JUDGING!

Just thinking.

Reggie Rockstone Hits Real Hard At Ace Hood And Haters

Reggie Rockstone(left), Ace Hood(middle) and Sarkodie
The Grandpapa of Ghana Hiplife music hasn't been a happy man since the news about Sarkodie rather allegedly paying American rapper, Ace Hood $25,000 just to get him feature on his #NewGuy song broke out.

According to sources, Sarkodie allegedly stated that Ace Hood begged him to get a feature on his song. But clear information from Ace Hood indicate otherwise, and he Sarkodie paid him $25K for his work and came out to lie to Ghanaians about it. Check HERE.

For now, nobody really knows who paid who. Whether Sarkodie paid Ace Hood or Ace Hood paid Sarkodie.

Due to this, Reggie Rockstone took to his twitter handle to express his displeasure with Ace Hood and all haters of Ghana's #1 rapper Sarkodie. And from his tweets, it seems Sarkodie paid Ace $25,000 for the feature.

As for the begging di3 hmmm, who did?

Reggie tweeted:

"U AV A PROBLEM WITH ANY OF OUR GH HARDWORKING YOUNG HIPLIFE SOLDIERS! U GOT A PROBLEM WITH GRANPA! SARK DEY OWE U MONEY? JUS NJOY HIS MUSIC"

"MUSIC DONE! VIDEO SHOT AND GOD BLESSED! U GOT 25K MISSING IN YO ACCOUNT SIR? SARK TEEF YO 25k?( most no av saf)SLEEP "

Sarkodie Paid Me $25,000 To Do The #NewGuy Collab - Ace Hood

Sarkodie and Ace Hood
On May 15, Hammer of the Last Two Music Group took to his facebook wall and wrote that Ace Hood rather reached out to Sarkodie to do the #NewGuy collaboration song. He went on to say that Sarkodie did not buy it but he earned it. Which according to somebody will mean Ace Hood paid Sarkodie before he(Ace Hood) could get a feature on the song. Hmmm

But according to Ace Hood today on twitter, it is otherwise. He said Sarkodie paid him $25,000 before the Collaboration could be done.

Hammer's facebook post reads, "Amazing how one move can summon the spirit of a whole industry and lift the hope of the youth boy nationwide. Exciting day.

Hasn't this been done before? Yes is has.

Why is this significant? I'll tell u...

In the case of Psquare featuring Rick Ross, Psquare paid Rick Ross.

In the case of Sark feat Ace hood, Ace actually reached out to Sark to do this.
That's the difference.
Sark earned it. He didn't buy it.
Salute GH music, Salute Sark, Salute Rocktone for giving us a job."

And these are the tweets of truth revelation from Ace Hood and co,

So somebody will ask, Sarkodie why did you lie to Hammer to lie to Ghanaians? Sark, Why?

The Real And Shocking Truth About Your Monthly Salary. WOW!!!

This is for government workers, people working for private entities, individuals working for pay checks and national service persons.
  • If you are a government worker, check this out.
Divide your salary by 30, that is, the number of days in a month and see the funny thing about your salary plan.

E.g GHS 900÷30= GHS 30
Less than the amount being gained by an average hawker in the city.

GHS 1000÷30= GHS 33.33
Less than amount amount earned daily by an average driver in the city and some villages.

GHS 1500 ÷30= GHS 50
Less than the daily amount earn by a trotro, taxi, and a tipper truck driver.
And when there is an issue in the family that requires financial assistance, the driver, hawkers and the rest are looking up to you.
  • If you are a national service person, you don't need to be told.
GHS 350÷30 = GHS 12
I hope you know the pure water seller makes enough money than you each day?

GHS 300÷30 =GHS 10
The errand boy at Suame Magazine (fitting shop) is earning better than you.

I hope you will continue to find out how your employers are cheating you. We are mostly deceived by the apparent attractive name of the amount earned at the end of the month without breaking it down to daily earnings.

I believe someone like you will not be happy with your employer after discovering the truth about your salary arrangement.
This is an error.

IT'S TIME YOU START BUILDING A SYSTEM FOR YOURSELF. IT'S TIME YOU TAKE YOUR OWN DESTINY INTO YOUR OWN HANDS.

BE AN ENTREPRENEUR. YES YOU CAN.

5 Reasons Women Need To Get Naked More Often

As women, how often do we really see each other au naturel and actually feel comfortable?

When I was a schoolgirl in the U.S., I quickly mastered the art of changing my clothes in the locker room without even so much as shining as an ankle. Modesty was so prevalent, it was as though we were expected to somehow keep our clothes on even while getting undressed.

So when I accidentally found myself at a nudist spa retreat in the middle of the Austrian Alps last winter, it wasn't surprising that I began to think about my body-baggage.

As my friend and I headed into the spa area, we expected to see fluffy white towels, bathing suits and bodies of all shapes and sizes. But instead, all that anybody was wearing was a birthday suit. I cringed. I didn't sign up for this. I reverted back to that shy, seventh grade schoolgirl in the locker room.

Looking around the sea of naked bodies I felt immense shame. I don't wax. I have stretch marks on my hips from having a baby. My left boob is a little bigger than my right boob. When was the last time I shaved my legs? Oh my God, that 50-year-old woman's breasts are bigger than mine. Will my ass look like that when I'm 70? No. God no! At least I exercise. Well, I guess I'm thinner than she is. And so on.

My friend sighed, looked at me and said, "I think it's considered rude if we don't take our clothes off." Rude?! So I refused, but after our first sauna, I began to understand the logic behind the no-clothes policy. I was seriously overheating. With a deep inhale (and an enormous sigh!) I took off my top.

My ... boobs ... There they were. I realized I had an easier time taking my shirt off in front of a sexual partner, than baring my breasts in public.

But instead of fixating on how my girls looked, I decided to redirect my focus to why I felt so much shame. Why was it my first impulse to compare my body to everyone else's? Why was I cataloging every inch of cellulite I saw? Why was I obsessing over how awful I thought I looked?

Here are five liberating reasons why you shouldn't be afraid to get naked:

1. "Perfect" is an illusion.

Even though I'm happy with my body most of the time, I still feel an immense pressure to appear "perfect". From an early age I was taught how to make myself more appealing to men — how to flirt, wear heels, short skirts, wax my eyebrows, slather on makeup, etc. And still, when all the clothes come off, I tend to worry about all the imperfections because let's face it, none of us are airbrushed.

"Imperfection" means there is an object of perfection, and that is just not true. Every body is different. As I looked around the spa that day it wasn't my body that separated me from everyone else, it was my attitude.

2. Being vulnerable in front of others is a good thing.

In Europe — Germany especially — it's perfectly normal to lose the swimsuit and go for a dip in the buff. Going to the sauna is a beloved pastime and it's generally understood that everyone will be unclad. At the yoga studio where I teach, there's even a coed sauna room in the basement — in case you didn't sweat enough in class. I've found that seeing other bodies in the nude can make us more comfortable in our own skin, if we're willing to sit with the discomfort and fear.

3. When you judge other people, you judge yourself.

I realized I was afraid to confront my own self-judgment. Instead of practicing self-compassion, I defaulted to fear. Society has taught us to judge and criticize, instead of to love and care for ourselves and others.

The first time I stood at the front of a yoga classroom as a teacher, and saw everyone in Downward Dog, I realized just how many different down dogs there were. They didn't look the ones you see in magazines, nor did they look like mine. But it was still a beautiful sight to see, nonetheless.

When you compare yourself to other people, it's a form of self-harm. We have to take care of our bodies physically and emotionally, and sometimes it's equally important — if not more important — to have an emotional fitness routine as well.Meditation is highly effective for this.

4. When you become comfortable being naked, you'll feel less inclined to wear makeup and heels.

I was never a girly-girl — it's just not my natural state. Sometimes I feel like wearing lipstick (but most of the time I don't) but I finally realized and accepted that this is OK. Making myself up was a way of putting myself down. Losing the costume helped me feel comfortable with just being myself.

5. Baring your bits to Mother Nature feels really good.

Like the snow on the pristine Alpine peaks, my body too will one day melt away. My bottom will get saggy and my skin will wrinkle.

If practicing yoga has taught me anything, it's that I am not my body and I am not my mind. Everything in this world is material, and is subject to constant change. Even sitting here now and writing this, my body is changing. My skin is a material barrier to the world around me and somehow taking my clothes off on that mountain, made me feel more at peace with nature and with myself.

Dumsor Must Stop Vigil: 12 Things you need to know that happened

Below are the 12 surprising moments you may not have known occurred during the Dumsor Must Stop vigil.

1. Wanlov the Kubolor of FOKN BOIS fame came through on his bicycle to demonstrate.
Wanlov Kubolor FOKN BOIS at Dumsor must stop vigil on bicycle

2. Sarkodie and Shatta Wale look-a.likes came through.

3. David Oscar made a hypocritical appearance on the scene to demonstrate. Yes. You heard me right. He was there. Though he posted on Facebook, sometime back that “I'm not even gonna be hypocritical and join the ‪#‎DumsorMustStop trend. How many of us have tried to conserve energy? Thanks to our waste, the dams are suffering. Don't get me wrong, I'm a mindless critic of the president JDM, and I understand that there are alternative sources of energy, but do you think that if it was that easy to fix the power crisis, the president would not saved himself the blames and constant harassment? As a nation, we happen to be fault seekers and less of vision implementers. Dumsor must stop, but your constant whining and whimpering would not act as a magic wand. Period!

In fact, he is a Ghanaian and nobody will stop him from the vigil.
David Oscar at the Dumsor must stop vigil

4. President Mahama’s communication team member, Alhaji Halidu Haruna was there with his giant ‘bobo’. He nearly got beaten by some angry unmarried women who were above the age of 30. They were the supposed prostitutes, as he said.

5. The most used statement by the Ghana Police was “Hey! Move. Go back”

6. No political party colours was displayed on the vigil grounds. It was all black.

7. The former New Patriotic Party General Secretary Sir John came through.

8. The Ghana Police Service personnel/officers were almost one-third of the population of demonstrators.

9. There was no light out during the vigil.

10. The demonstrators had more kerosene to fuel their ‘bobos’ and lanterns.

11. Some people came with candles to demonstrate. But due the intensity of the wind they could not light up the candles. The air was offensive.

12. The celebrities were overly protected by the Ghana Police. You can’t even go close.
