FAKING REALITY

We are all liars, so it's funny when you hear people say "I AM REAL". How can one be honest-to-God when we are fixated on a questionable and make-believe way of living? How can we be sincere, when one is honest in a breath and dishonest in another?

So I am honest when it comes to business, but when it's in relation with my marriage I am shady. How can one be honest with religious issues and deceitful when social and political affairs arise?

We point accusing fingers at others, forgetting we are the greatest culprit of the crime we charge them with. Can one be honest with themselves and say they lead an incorruptible life, speak truth, stand by it and also defend it at all times?

Is it honorable to lie about your status and fight for rights in society? Is it upright to fight for your birthright and trample on the privileges of others? Do we really practice what we preach?

Imagine a husband is honest to the wife about an external marital affair? What happens if employees complained genuinely to employers about mistreatment at workplaces?

Will pastors lose parishioners if they gave a truthful account of how offerings are spent? What if the police, military, judiciary and leaders around the world discharged their duties with nobility?

How will this world be, if we were all honest-to-God? Are we ready for the truth, can we handle it?

Perfection is a state we all are striving to achieve. It's going to be a Herculean task if our commitment to falsehood is not breached and disregarded, but bask in the glory of lies. Except if, we accept life as a piece of fiction, and that it has been like that since the inception of humanity!

To cut to the chase, there will be no moment in time in the human race, when we will be a 100% trustworthy. So one needs to come to terms with the certainty that deception is the new truth.

Duplicity goes a long way to protect reputations, marriages, businesses, churches and and it's deeply rooted in every department of dealings in our community.

In truth, we need to be frightened out of our wits because the only reality in life is a LIE.
