Deborah Vanessa reveals why she Left the UK for Ghana

This is why Deborah Vanessa left the UK for Ghana

Ghanaian female artiste, TV personality and sister to Wanlov The Kubolor (also an artiste, and actor), Deborah Vanessa has revealed the reason behind her departure from London in the United Kingdom to Ghana in the year 2010 and has since never returned to the former to live and work there.

According to Deborah Vanessa, she lived in London for more than two (2) years and during that period she studied and worked at the same time.

She moved back to Ghana to live her dream as an artiste.

As part of her reasons for moving back to Ghana from the UK, she realised she can't end up happy working for someone else in a foreign land.

She basically moved back to Ghana to pursue her dream as an artiste, and to work for herself because of the freedoms that come with it.

Check below for Deborah Vanessa's post on Facebook this evening

"In January 2010, I came to Ghana on the last Ghana Airways flight leaving the UK behind me.

"After living (studying & working) in London for 2+ years, the snowstorm in the winter of 2009 - early 2010 gave me the vim to move back home and live my dream of being an artist.

"I had to make that change else I doubt I would've ended up happy working for someone else in a foreign land.

"Now, working for myself, I enjoy all the freedoms and even the risks of being an artist. #MOVE"

Maame Dokono is not sick - Leonora Buckman, President of Women in Performing Arts

Maame Dokono Grace Omaboe is not sick Leonora Buckman

The President of Women In Performing Arts (WIPA) Leonora Buckman has also added her voice to efforts aimed at debunking the recent publications that veteran Ghanaian actress, Grace Omaboe popurlarly known in Ghana entaertainment industry as Maame Dokono is sick and she is asking for support and prayer from anyone.

Leonora Buckman was speaking to Samny Flex, host of the Accra-based Pluzz FM's  morning program AMPluzz today and she said, "Actually we heard the story... you know and yesterday it was on Kwesi Aboagye's program. And they way it was going actually I was having so many calls that Maame Dokono is very ill...she is this, she that. So I said I have spoken to her about three days ago and I know she is okay. So I decided to call her first...you know and I started calling her and she wasn't picking. I got a little bit scared. What is going on. I called Charles Amankwa Ampofo and asked him whether he has spoken to Grace Omaboe. And he said he has just spoken with her and she was even in her house. And I said okay; tell her to call me back. And then I spoke to her. Immediately she called she said, "Maa I think you have the nonsense that is going on?" And I said yes. Somebody just told me. Actually it was Monica..., also a veteran actress.

"She (Maame Dokono) said she is okay. She only had a call from Hitz FM. And they were asking her about 'Obra'. So she spoke to them and when they were asking the questions, when the questions were going, they had actually started talking about Bob Okala's death and then she (Maame Dokono) said, "You know, I am not feeling okay." That was all. Only for her to start getting calls from Kumasi, wherever; that they have heard that she is not well and all that. You know, ..."

The President of WIPA affirmed by emphasizing that Maame Dokono is not sick.

"She is not sick oo. What happened is that she travelled. She went to a funeral in Kumasi. You know so when she came back she said she was feeling a bit tired. So she went to see the doctor and the doctor said she should just have some rest because of her age.

"You know so that it shouldn't be like she will break down and all that because she has been on set recently going up and down. So the doctor said okay she should have some rest.

"That is why when they were talking to her (Maame Dokono) she said she is not feeling well so they should do it (the phone interview on Hitz FM) later. That is all. So it is not like she is sick."

She also adviced we help the creative arts and stop talking about the sicknesses and the way they (artists) are going round in tattered clothes and all that; and she further suggested we change the style now.

Women In Performing Arts (WIPA) is an association that was founded by Leonora Buckman  that aims to establish a welfare fund to support women in the creative and performing arts.

Jesus fed 5000 people, I Fed 4000. Nobody has done it before - Kwaw Kese

Kwaw Kese donation feed 4000 Nsawam Prison inmates

"...Apart from Jesus who fed 5000 nobody has ever done something of that sort before." - Kwaw Kese

Kwaw Kese was on Pluzz FM this morning to talk about his new album 'Forever'.

This album contains 20 songs. The album listening will take place tonight at 7pm at Classroom Lounge, East Legon and the album signing will take place tommorow 11am at the Silverbird foyer, West Hills mall.

Kwaw Kese as part of his individual social responsibility embarked on a project to support the inmates of the Nsawam Prisons in Accra.

The musician went on the streets not long ago to appeal for public supports(funds) to enable him and his Madtime Entertainment feed the inmates of the Nsawam Prisons.

The Ghanaian hiplife-hiphop artist, 'Abodam' got some support from the public, added his to it and accompanied by his Madtime Entertainment music team made a donation in the form of food items, cash and others to the unfortunate inmates of the Nsawam Prisons in Accra.

This is the second time the musician has donated to the prisons. The first donation went to the Kunasi Central Prisons last year 2015.

He is planning on making further donations in the future and this time not to the prisons but to other needy people in society.

Kwaw Kese commenting on the recent project he and his Madtime Entertainment undertook at the Nsawam Prisons on Accra-based Pluzz FM's AMPluzz this morning said, "recently we fed 4000 people at the Nsawam Prisons. This is something that has never happened before. Everytime; one thing that Madtime Entertainment and Kwaw Kese do is that, when we are doing something we want to do something that nobody has ever done before. We set the trend, we don't follow the trend. So we went to feed 4000 people. Apart from Jesus who fed 5000 nobody has ever done something of that sort before. You understand?"

The musician was reminded by the host, Sammy Flex that Jesus fed 5000 people so it is left with 1000 for him(Kwaw Kese) to beat him.

Kwaw Kese responded, "I don't want to challenge him."

A guy Predicts when Jay Foley will die because he mocked Abraham Attah

A facebook user predicts Jay Foley will die for mocking Abraham Attah

The Ghana Internet Warriors (GIWa) at it again. GIWa is one hell of a group you don't have to mess with. They are like the Law. GIWa is not a respecter of persons. However, when your good deeds match up to their expectations, they will not - never take away your commendations, they will praise you till you realise you are indeed somebody too by making you feel so good. On the contrary, you can't intentionally or unintentionally mess up or do 'yawa' and expect to escape their wrath of social and cyber persecutions. They will 'give it to you' so bad for you to know that you are nobody.

GIWa have become a great source of headache and worry to celebrities and all other public figures in Ghana. Those Ghana celebrities who have had a taste of GIWa before know how effective they are so they don't take them for granted anymore.

Members of GIWa are ever present and always alert on social media waiting for people to commit themselves so they can function.

A low rank junior member of GIWa popped up this afternoon on Jay Foley's Facebook wall to do what they do best - to bash the radio and TV personality and business manager of the Accra-based radio station Live 91.9 fm who is also the founder of 2131 Clubs for mocking Ghanaian(but he never featured in any Ghanaian movie and his first ever role in 'Beasts Of No Nation' movie has made him) Hollywood young actor and a superstar and one of the 88th Oscars Academy Awards presenters, Abraham Attah for his English speaking accent and manner in which he delivered his award acceptance speech at the just ended Film Independent Spirit Awards as 'Best Male Lead' in 'Beasts Of No Nation'.

The low ranking junior member of Ghana Internet Warriors predicted Jay Foley's death is coming in the screenshot below.

If you are reading this article, please don't fall victim to Ghana Internet Warriors. Watch your actions and inactions and make sure you don't do 'yawa'.

According to members, GIWa is pronounced as GIWA.

Jay Foley Apologizes for mocking Abraham Attah's FISA acceptance speech

Apology letter fron Jay Foley to Abraham Attah

"...Why would I in heavens name "hate, envy," Abraham Attah?...Sorry.... I apologise." - Jay Foley

Jay Foley is a media mogul and business manager of an Accra-based radio station Live 91.9 fm. Jay also being the CEO of the Tavern, founder of 2131 Clubs, a sound engineer, voice over artist was not long ago honored by REMY MARTINS.

Abraham Attah ia a 15-year-old young Ghanaian boy who was featured as a lead actor alongside British actor and hollywood star, Idris Elba in a Ghanaian setting movie named 'Beasts Of No Nation' that was directed by American film director and cinematographer, Cary Fukunaga.

In the movie 'Beasts Of No Nation', Abraham Attah was cast as 'Agu'

'Beasts Of No Nation' has exposed Abraham Attah to the world at large, brought him lots of successes, won him many awards, landed him on great international platforms and he is, for now, the first ever hollywood movie star whose biological parents are both Ghanaians.

Abraham Attah was on February 27 named 'Best Male Lead' at the Film Independent Spirit Awards for his role in 'Beasts Of No Nation' and also he appeared on the 88th Oscars Academy Awards as an award presenter on February 28. This is great achievement.

Him appearing on the Oscars to present an award is something no ghanaian movie star, from nineteen 'kojo hoho" till today has ever done let alone to recieve an award.

Abraham Attah just came out of nowhere, he was never featured in any Ghanaian movie. His first ever role was in the 'Beasts Of No Nation' movie and see where he is now. He made it to Hollywood straight 'outta' nowhere.

Abraham Attah's english speaking accent is the typical Ghanaian type and because of this he is being mocked.

Jay Foley got fascinated about how, the way and number of 'Thank you' Abraham Attah said when delivering his acceptance speech at the Film Independent Spirit Awards and he(Jay Foley) gave it a replay on air on Live 91.9 fm just for laughs and some Ghanaians did not take it cool with him as they saw it as a mockery to Abraham Attah.

Read Jay Foley's apology statement below.
